I've been shortlisted for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award!
The Buckinghamshire Enterprise Awards 2010 are taking place on 11th Febuary and I have been shortlisted to win the Young Entrepreneur of the Year category!! Fingers crossed!

Friday, 11th September 2009: MINOTAUR MADNESS CANCELLED
Minotaur Madness has been cancelled. The outdoor gig was scheduled for 24th October 2009. Which means that FUSION was my last show this year.
New dates will be booked for 2010.

Saturday, 18th July 2009: Claire Batchelor to play Hobble on the Cobbles 2009
Claire will be playing a set at Hobble on the Cobbles 2009 with cellist Steph Shepherd and percussion by Dikki. The set will feature songs from her EP, WISH and their stage time is 3.30pm. The event is free to attend and is held in Market Square, Aylesbury with Kajagoogoo as the headlining act.

Hello!
Claire will not only be in the Bucks Examiner this week, (after being in The Bucks Herald and Bucks Advertiser last week) but will also be featured on Forest FM, a community station in Dorset.
The station will be playing one of Claire's tracks from her electro-acoustic EP, WISH (we dont know which one yet!) and reviewing the EP on their website.
You can listen on Thursday night, (12th March) on DAB Forest 92.3FM or on their website, http://www.forestfm.co.uk

Wednesday, 18th Febuary, 2009: The Silent Cancer (Documentary) Score by Claire Batchelor
The Silent Cancer is a documentary about pancreatic cancer by Direct Digital Pictures, based at Pinewood Studios.
The aim of the documentary is to raise awareness about pancreatic cancer and I'm really pleased to be involved in it. My score appears throughout the hour long programme, which was composed specifically for certain scenes.
The documentary is currently in Post-Production and you can view the trailer here.

WISH is officially released on monday! You can order it from HMV, Amazon and iTunes, but the best thing to do is get it direct from us, check out my Shop page. So much hard work has gone into making WISH so if you feel like spending a fiver and relishing in a years worth of my sweat, tears, standing in freezing waterfalls, things going wrong, things going right, bongo-related-injuries, endless days locked away in my studio and about 29,000 kitkats then order yourself a copy! Also I'd like to thank Steph, Dikki, Mike, Tina, Matt, Rob Alderton, Nicolas Laborie and of course Jam Central for helping me make it happen.

Claire Batchelor in association with Jam Central Records will be hosting 'WISH: EP Album Launch Party' on Saturday 7th Febuary 2009. Come along to get your copy of the limited edition digipack, at The Bullet Bar, 147 Kentish Town Road, Kentish Town, NW1 8PB. The doors open at 7pm and Claire will be performing an exclusive live set with special guests at 8pm. Entry is £7 including the album or £5 entry alone.

06 December 2008: EP Sent To Be Pressed
OK everyone that's it! I sent my EP off to be pressed this week and should hopefully get it back in 2 weeks time.
The official release date is Monday 16th February, and the release party is on Saturday 7th Febuary, which will be your first chance to get your hands on the limited edition digipak, after which we'll press some normal copies so once they're gone they're gone! More details of the release party will be up here soon.

Helloo
Well I think I'm about halfway through the recording of my EP, maybe more than that, depends on if I sit back during mixdown and think 'You know what, I really can't leave that mandolin coming in a millisecond before the lead vocal' and re-record things. Which I'll try not to do ;.)
So far have the drums and half the cellos down, so watch this space, also my EP ARTWORK WILL BE UP SOON AND SO WILL MY (proper) WEBSITE!

APRIL NEWS UPDATE
Hello all you lovely creatives, here's whats been going on in Claireland:
* EXCLUSIVE LIVE GIG IN NOTTING HILL
I'll be playing an acoustic set of my songs (see gig listing) featuring cellist Steph Shephard. I'll also be selling demo CDs so come along to chill on a wednesday night at this fantasic venue! £4 entry.
* HANDE MUSIC PUBLISHING
HandE Music Publishing based at Epping Film Studios have signed up 6 of my tracks for their library and will be promoting them to be used in TV amd Film.
* PAUSE
I play guitar for PAUSE, http://www.myspace.com/pausemusicuk and we're currently working on our first EP, potentially 'Control EP'. We are playing some gigs around Buckinghamshire so I'll keep you posted in the Live dates section.
