Claire Batchelor 2019

I have always had a love for Film and TV, and after mainly being a performer and songwriter, (and studying as such,) I decided to study Music Composition for Media.  I really felt like I had found my perfect course, and graduated First Class with Honors in 2007.

I'm so glad I took this route and have a true passion for writing music to brief, whether it's to picture or for a production music album (or anything else!).  I love writing in different styles, and my days are never the same.  I've always been a creative person and I really relish having so many sounds at my disposal.  I'm a big fan of live instruments and try to use them as much as possible.

Way back when...
I come from a musical family and started learning the classical guitar aged seven.  I played in a local guitar ensemble and in the National Youth Guitar Ensemble.  As a teenager I started to play more electric, acoustic and bass and was in various bands, I also sang, provided backing vocals and started to learn keyboards.  I studied Popular Music, Music Theory and Music Technology A-Level at Amersham College in 2000, followed by a brief stint at BCUC (now Bucks New University) studying Music Management and Marketing. I then moved to Brighton in 2004 to study Music Performance, and ultimately Music Composition for Media.  After I graduated I started to gain local clients and built my work up from there.  Now I've recorded at Abbey Road and Angel studios, had my music performed and recorded by small ensembles up to a full orchestra, and my music has been broadcast on many TV channels all over the world.
